Every TPMS sensor has an individual Electronic Serial Number (ESN). Each time you change your Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors you must re-learn the sensors ESN's into the cars Electronic Control Unit (ECU). Many of vehicles can be put into learn mode through steps outlined in your owners manual. However, most vehicles manufactured by Japanese makers (Toyota, Honda, Nissan etc.) require an electronic tool.
